The report, released earlier this year, details the patchwork and fragmented system of EMS throughout the County, as well as the varying approaches from municipalities and fire districts regarding the provision of EMS. Additionally, the extensive data reveals a wide range of cost structures, coverage ability and response times. The report includes the task force’s immediate, short-term and long-term recommendations to improve and enhance EMS service in Dutchess County.
During the public forums, members of the EMS Task Force will present their findings, conclusions of the report and provide a review of the data for the entire county. Additionally, members will present the recommendations and next steps as described in the report. The EMS Task Force will continue to work with the fire and EMS communities, local municipalities, and the public to develop solutions that are patient centered, reliable, consistent, affordable, and sustainable.
