Poughkeepsie…The Dutchess County Department of Public Works (DPW) has announced work will begin next week to pave approximately 0.53 miles of Jackson Street (CR 34) in the Town and Village of Fishkill, from State Route 52/Main Street to Osborne Hill Road (CR 35). Work is anticipated to begin on Monday, August 8th and be complete by Friday, August 12th, weather permitting. Jackson Street averages approximately 10,000 vehicles per day.
Project work may cause significant traffic delays, particularly during peak commute times in the morning and evening. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes, plan for additional commute time, and obey posted speed limits, traffic advisory signs, and directions from flaggers in the work zone to ensure the safety of workers and other motorists. Residents will continue to have access to their properties along Jackson Street throughout the paving process.
