Poughkeepsie…The Dutchess County Department of Public Works (DPW) has announced work will begin to reconstruct a portion of Middlebush Road (CR 93), between Pleasant Lane and Cameli Drive in the Town of Wappinger, to realign the curves along the roadway to enhance safety and ridability. Work is anticipated to begin on or around June 27th.
During construction, Middlebush Road will be closed to westbound traffic in the project area and a detour route will be posted. Motorists will be able to travel eastbound on Middlebush Road to U.S. Route 9. Residents will continue to have access to their properties along Middlebush Road throughout the construction process. Middlebush Road averages approximately 9,600 vehicles per day. The westbound lane closure may cause significant traffic delays during peak commute times in the morning and evening. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes, plan for additional commute time, exercise extra caution on the detour route and obey the posted speed limit, traffic advisory signs, and directions from flaggers in the work zone to ensure the safety of workers and other motorists.
